About Kind Minds OOSH

We often get asked: What is Vacation Care, OSHC, OOSH, or BASC? Simply put, Kind Minds OOSH is a childcare service for all primary school aged children including home-schooled students and preparatory-aged children from private schools. We offer before and after school care, as well as fun, high-quality vacation care during school holidays and pupil-free days.

If your school doesn’t currently run a vacation care program, we are your one-stop shop for fun, adventure, and learning during the holidays, without the guilt! Kids can enjoy an action-packed schedule of activities all in one place. No need to run between multiple holiday camps we’ve got it all, from exciting excursions like climbing to the top of the Harbour Bridge pylon, to building and racing your very own go-karts.

For creative minds, we offer endless options: paint-and-sip sessions, making your own sushi with our friends from SUSHI HUB, and crafting slime creations with SCOOPI SLIME.

Our child-centered philosophy is built on the belief that all children are curious, kind, and capable. We nurture this curiosity in a safe, stimulating environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and learning.

Guided by values of kindness, adventure, safety, and support, we honour each child’s unique strengths, foster a sense of belonging, and encourage respect, confidence, and resilience, all while letting kids have a blast with their friends.

our Philosophy and mission

Our philosophy is that every child is naturally curious, capable, and kind. At Kind Minds OOSH, we believe that by encouraging, role-modelling, explicitly teaching, and celebrating kindness, children develop confidence, resilience, emotional intelligence, and respectful relationships. When kindness is embedded in daily practice, it strengthens children’s learning, play experiences, behaviour, and social development in meaningful and lasting ways.

As an Outside School Hours Care (OOSH) service, our practice is guided by the My Time, Our Place Framework, supporting play, leisure, and child-led experiences that promote wellbeing, development, and a sense of belonging. For younger children enrolled in preparatory programs, we also draw on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) to ensure continuity of learning and development.

We foster belonging through respectful relationships with children, families, educators, and the wider community. By providing a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment, we support children to make choices, take appropriate risks, explore their interests, and grow as capable, confident, and kind individuals.

Through reflective practice, intentional support, and inclusive approaches, we are committed to delivering high-quality care in line with the National Quality Framework, helping every child thrive socially, emotionally, and cognitively.

Our COre Values

Sylvania Waters OSHC has been built on 6 core values that we live and breathe in all we do.

CHILD-CENTERED

Children are at the centre of everything we do. We love hearing what our their interests, hobbies, loves and loathes are. We thrive on feedback from our children and their families.

ENRICHMENT

We plan and provide engaging education activities that encourage curiosity and support holistic growth. My Time Our Place as well as EYLF for our younger ones are our back bone.

ADVENTURE

We encourage a spirit of adventure and curiosity in every child, fostering a love for learning through exploration in a safe and supportive setting.

SAFETY

We prioritize safety and wellbeing, exceeding educator-to-child ratios which means more supervision on the floor for extra support and care.

KINDNESS

Kindness, empathy, and respect are our core values. We role model these daily, empowering children to embrace and live them, fostering inclusivity.

SUPPORT

We support families by providing tailored, high-quality care that is reliable, informative and engaging for every child in our care.
